Teachers who are finding themselves a little bit overwhelmed now that the school year is ramping up may find that they need to get back to the basics in order to get themselves into a place where they feel a little bit better about the new school year.

One area of a teacher’s life that’s fairly easy to make a little bit easier is the area of school supplies. Here are some tips to help teachers get back on track with their classroom supplies:

• Create a school supply list. It will take time at first but then you’ll be able to just check things off as the classroom runs out of them so that your shopping for school will be easier.
• Have an organizational plan for all supplies. This includes supplies that you use at home and those that go back and forth with you from home to school.
• Get rid of any broken school supplies. Teachers often hang on to things as long as possible since money is always tight in a classroom but having broken supplies around usually leads to bad morale and generally high stress levels for teachers.

School supplies are a simple thing so you might not realize that making them more organized and just generally better is really going to change the year for you. Don’t worry about it; it will.
