Who Holds the Keys to a Happy Relationship?

You can find relationship advice without even looking. From books on relationships to relationship-focused television shows, everyone has something to say about relationships. The worst culprits are the people in your life who are well-intentioned but misguided in the advice they offer up so freely.

The truth of the matter is that nobody really knows anything more than you do about how to have a great relationship. Sure, some people have read a better relationship book (or written one) and some people have more experience than you do with dating but that doesn’t mean that they know what they’re talking about. Just take a close look at their own relationships and you’ll probably find that they feel as muddled as you do.

The only person that really holds the keys to a happy relationship in your life is you. You need to get to know yourself and your own desires. You need to find ways to identify your needs and then be able to clearly articulate them to another person. And you need to get skilled at figuring out which people in your life are good for you and which ones aren’t.

That’s not to say that you shouldn’t look to the advice of others. It’s always good to get some outside perspective on what you’re going through. Just remember that when it boils down to it, the relationship that you’re going to have for the rest of your life is the one you have with yourself. Work on developing that and the rest will follow.

2 Types of Cross Tattoos

Two people might walk into a tattoo shop on any given day and each may be seeking to get a tattoo of a cross inked onto his or her body. However, that doesn’t mean that the two people have anything else in common at all.

Like with all tattoos, cross tattoos are symbols of personal expression which may reveal different things about the personality of the tattoo bearer. Depending on the type of cross tattoo that it is, you could find strikingly different personalities between these two people.

The first person who comes in might be looking at Celtic tattoos. This may be a person of Irish descent who wants to honor his heritage with a tattoo. Alternatively, this may be someone who is interested in the political symbolism of the Celtic cross.

In contrast, the second person who comes in might be looking at religious tattoos. The traditional Catholic cross may have been chosen after looking at other religious symbols such as the Sacred Heart.

Of course, these two people don’t necessarily have to have opposing views. The Irish Catholic individual may be interested in a cross tattoo that blends either of the traditional cross images to represent her merged beliefs. In other words, the tattoo will be highly unique to the individual (as all tattoos are) and you shouldn’t assume something one way or the other about the person who got the ink done.

3 Ways to Wear Claddagh Rings

Claddagh rings are a traditional type of Irish ring commonly associated with marriage. However, these rings are not necessarily Celtic wedding rings. In fact, they may even be given by friends and family to represent the close bonds that are developed in those relationships.

Here are the three different ways to wear Claddagh rings to represent their true meaning:

  • The Single Gal. Wear the ring on your right hand with the bottom of the heart facing outward to tell the world that you’re single and looking for a partner.
  • The Fiancee. Keep the ring facing outward once you’ve gotten engaged but move it over to your left hand ring finger. This tells the world that you’re basically taken but you aren’t married yet. This is particularly true for Celtic engagement rings but can be done with all Claddagh rings.
  • The Wife. After getting married, rotate the ring so that the bottom of the heart is facing inward towards your body. Worn in this way on the left hand ring finger, you’re telling the world that you are someone’s wife.

Of course, if you aren’t interested in the history of these rings, you can wear them any way that you see fit. Just be aware that worn in the above ways, you’re sending certain messages to the world around you.

4 Ways to Make Shower Enclosures More Sensual

Do you remember when you and your spouse first started spending the night together? In addition to the passion of those nights, the two of your probably enjoyed the luxury of showering together in the morning. Enveloped in those dingy shower enclosures, the world consisted of just the two of you. After the years have passed, you probably don’t see it as a luxury anymore. If the two of you do still shower together, it’s probably for the sake of convenience. But it doesn’t have to be.

Here are four ways to bring the romance back to your relationship by making the bathroom shower a center of sensuality:

  1. Shower together when you both have time to enjoy it. If you’re worrying about getting to work on time, another body in the shower is just in the way. Save "together showers" for Saturday mornings when you have some time to enjoy each other.
  2. Use aromatherapy to set the mood. Certain soaps, scented candles and even air fresheners can say "sexy" with their smell.
  3. Use low-light bathroom accessories for better ambience. The right lighting can do wonders for the tone of the shower.
  4. Clean each other instead of yourselves. Use rubbing soap on each other as an excuse to sneak in a few moments of massage. Even if you are in a rush, you’ll remember that feeling throughout the day and want to get back home to each other.

You shower every day. But when was the last time a shower was as sexy as it used to be? Make your answer to that question "today".
